The Advanced Learning Partnership is delighted to announce the seventh year of the Senior Leader’s Programme, which follows on from the success of previous years. This course will be delivered by Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers of our Partnership schools and will prepare participants for the job of, and application to, a Senior Leadership Team.
This course comprises of six core modules, which will be run as twilight sessions at various Partnership schools.
In addition to the taught part of this course, participants will be expected to complete a small project, overseen by a member of their current Senior Leadership team. This should be a project which has clear outcomes and which allows them to showcase their school wide leadership skills. Participants will be asked to supply a draft title for their project, together with the name and role of their school mentor for their registration on this course to be completed. Participants will be asked to present their project and answer questions towards the end of the course.
The Senior Leadership Programme also includes a day where participants will be interviewed for a fictitious position as Assistant Headteacher. This process will include a number of realistic interview tasks as well as an interview conducted by current Partnership Headteachers. Thorough, individualised feedback from this process will be provided.
In addition, participants will be given the opportunity to shadow an experienced Assistant Headteacher in a Partnership School for a one-day visit. This is an excellent opportunity for leadership development and networking with an experienced colleague.
